‘Imprints of the Past’ is a series of drawings that deal with the memory object. The physicality experienced through drawing directly from the personal items of the departed, enables me to not only feel and sense the person but immediately transports me back in time. Like Louise Bourgeois, I use drawing as a means of reconstructing something of the past in order to ‘exorcise it’. I draw incessantly, obsessively dissecting each detail in order to reconstruct emotions and memories.
